The Senate will now have to deal with the articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The Republican-led House delivered the charges against Mayorkas to the Senate Tuesday, and senators will be sworn in as jurors today. It's not clear how Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer plans to handle the trial, but he's expected to hold a vote to dismiss or table the impeachment on a simple majority vote.        The president of Columbia University is on Capitol Hill today testifying about antisemitism on campus. Minouche [[ min-oosh ]] Shafik's testimony comes months after the same committee questioned the leaders of Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, and M.I.T. over similar concerns. The presidents of Harvard and UPenn stepped down following those hearings.        The first seven jurors have been chosen for Donald Trump's criminal trial. The jury selection process will resume on Thursday in New York City, and will last until a panel of 12 plus six alternates is chosen. The former President is accused of falsifying business records in order to cover up payments allegedly made to an adult film star just prior to the 2016 election.       Crews are working to clear the wreckage of Baltimore's collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in order to open another temporary shipping channel. Speaking on Tuesday, Maryland Governor Wes Moore noted that crews have removed eleven-hundred tons of steel from the water. The governor also said that he plans to travel to Washington again to continue the push for full federal funding to rebuild the bridge.       An elephant is out of harm's way after running through traffic in Montana. The animal was in Butte yesterday as part of a traveling circus. Officials say the elephant got loose after getting spooked by a car that backfired. The elephant was eventually taken back to the civic center and wasn't injured.       The NBA's Play-In Tournament tipped off on Tuesday. The Los Angeles Lakers locked up their spot as the seventh-seed in the Western Conference with a 110-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in the Big Easy. Elsewhere, the Sacramento Kings kept their season alive with a dominant 118-96 takedown of the Golden State Warriors at the Golden 1 Center.
