Did you know the NS Public Art Committee has a Facebook Page?

Follow us here (https://www.facebook.com/groups/481365593312306) where we are creating opportunities for outreach and citizen engagement with public art projects, at community events and public presentations.

Not on Facebook? That's ok - reach out to us via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We were established to bring the life of the community to the walls of Town Hall and ensure that art is present for all to enjoy. So be on the lookout for a "Save the Date" for our Town Hall Open House.

The Halliwell Review Committee invites the North Smithfield residents to participate in a public charette to discuss ideas and the future of the Halliwell School Property on July 24, 2021.

The morning will begin at the property at 358 Victory Highway at 9 AM. We will then transition to the North Smithfield Middle School Cafeteria at 10 AM.

What is a charette?

A charette is a design meeting where all stakeholders openly discuss and collaborate to create a program, understand goals and desires, solicit feedback from all, and to help build community consensus.

We hope to see you all there!

An FDA advisory panel is taking a closer look at Pfizer COVID booster shots. An all-day hearing is underway, and they're expected to give a recommendation later today later today. The panel is comprised of scientists and medical researchers from across the U.S.        COVID-19 vaccination status is a friendship deal breaker for many Americans. The results of a new poll shows that one in seven Americans have ended a friendship over it. OnePoll Research found that two-thirds of those who've lost a friend over the shot have been vaccinated and ended a relationship with a friend who refused the shot.        There will be a roughly six-percent bump in monthly Social Security benefits for millions of Americans next year. The Senior Citizens League based its new estimate on the latest Consumer Price Index, which revealed inflation issues brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. The increase could be the biggest jump since 1982.        Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley is standing by calls he made to his Chinese counterpart toward the end of the Trump administration. That's what he said to a Wall Street Journal reporter during an overseas flight. Milley claims the calls were "routine in order to discuss issues of the day, to reassure both allies and adversaries in order to ensure strategic stability."        Customers are reporting problems trying to purchase the new iPhone13 using Apple Cards. The topic is trending on Twitter with some saying they had a terrible experience going through the iPhone upgrade checkout process because their Apple Card was not working. The Apple Card allows loyal customers to purchase Apple products with up to three-percent cash back.        The Emmy Awards are set for Sunday, and "Ted Lasso" is expected to clean up. The comedy series starring Jason Sudeikis has been nominated for 20 awards this year including best comedy, and for Sudeikis as best lead actor in a comedy.
